‘This is Your Last Week as a Normal Person’: Gee Lit Previews Broccoli City With NUNAR
In conversation with Culture writer Chardai Powell, Gee Lit told us she was excited to perform her fan-favorite “Solo“ and “River”. “Everybody loves Solo. It’s easy.” The melodic contemporary artist from Virginia Beach sat down with NUNAR to preview her performance at Broccoli City Festival this past weekend.
Gee Lit got her chance to perform at DC’s top music festival after winning Made in the DMV’s Organic Choice contest in collaboration with Broccoli City, where she and Maryland artist Cheakaity walked away as the people’s choice.
On her win, the artist hadn’t yet processed the opportunity. “I haven’t actually sat down and thought about it. I just been trying to get prepared and get everybody the information and things like that.” Gee Lit told NUNAR about the support she’s received from friends. “You supposed to be out celebrating, this is your last week as a normal person.”
Gee Lit has three artists in mind she’d like to bump into during her BC Fest. “Ari Lennox, probably. Summer Walker of course. But Ari Lennox? That’s that girl right there.” She also mentioned DMV’s favorite, Rico. “I would love to see Rico Nasty. I feel like it’s only right that I meet her because we from the DMV.”
