‘It's a Guinness World Record That I Might Try to Break’: Cheakaity Previews Broccoli City With NUNAR

"It's a Guinness World Record that I might try to break: biggest soul train line of all time." R&B and soul artist @cheakaity sat down with NUNAR Culture writer @charhoneyy to share his highest hopes and excitement for @broccolicity. At his biggest stage, Cheakaity wants to attempt something never before seen at the music festival. “The world record is 574 people. If they’re feeling it, I would try to have them all dancing.”

"I tweeted in March, I was like 'I can see myself at Broccoli City with the crowd eating out of my hands'... one of these Broccoli Cit[ies] I'm'a play," said Cheakaity. "Then I saw Made in the DMV had this contest, and it's called Organic Choice, and the winner gets to play at Broccoli City. And I was like: huh! Let's roll the dice and see what happens."

"I'm looking for a full-circle moment with @arilennox," the singer also said on the live. He's also liable for a fanboy moment with another DMV favorite. "Rico Nasty, I love her [...] I want her to scream at me."

The singer also talked about Alex Vaughn, also in the BC Fest lineup, and opened up about being inspired by her rise. “Earlier this year, a friend of mine just got signed. Then she was booked for the lineup. I was like wow, that’s so cool. That’s somebody who I kinda watched work [in] retail, work her way up, and then get signed,” he said. “It made it real for me.”
