When you're passionate about something, anything is possible. 1K Prince has been in the music scene for quite some time, resulting in him being signed to RECORDS, an offshoot of Sony Music Entertainment, at the age of fifteen. With his strong work ethic, love for music, and great support system he has all the tools for success. 

The Gaithersburg native has always been in love with music, growing up listening to 00s-10s icons such as Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown. Inspired by their versatility, these artists and more recent ones––including Lil Tecca, Lil Poppa, Polo G––impacted his musical choices. 1K Prince’s EP ‘Global Youngin’ released this past September, including four heavy hitting tracks “What’s Right”, “Blue Stacks”, “Last Night”, and “B&C”. He also has other energetic pieces of work such as singles like “Ballin”, “She Like Me”, and “You’re Mine Still”. You can tell that music comes naturally to 1K Prince. “I feel like it’s [easier] because music is like therapy, you know what I’m saying? So it’s like everything, anytime I’m making a song, it’s just like, I’m getting something off my chest type stuff.”

Having individuals he can trust along his side, such as Glorified Solid, 49 Sniper, and others, help keep Prince on track to greatness. “It’s also like, the people I’m around, my manz and everything… everybody make sure I’m on top of what I gotta be on top of. Like, we all do that for each other,” says the inspiring sixteen-year-old creative. Everyone in this collective seems to be on the same page, moving in unison, and holding each other accountable until the time comes when they all make it. 

To be signed by a Sony Music record label at this point of his life is undoubtedly a huge accomplishment. Maintaining a social life, attending high school, and living in a pandemic could be challenging for some but not for 1K Prince. He has made it clear that this is the life he was destined for––he just has to maintain focus. “So it’s like, I’m gonna leave school after that, go make some music, get some work done. ‘Cause I know the music gonna come when it comes and everything. That’s just how it is,” says 1K Prince.

1K Prince has shown that hard work, dedication, and consistency is a major key for success. If there’s one thing we know about the music industry is that it’s cut throat, so you have to be prepared to perform at your best at all times. Despite being so young, 1K Prince has already assembled a solid team that he can rely on alongside his family supporting all of his endeavors. Now that he is signed, he plans on taking the music scene by storm. As time progresses, we can only imagine the heights 1K Prince will eventually reach.
